What this system is
This system is a toolset for managing and validating a sharded, privacy-focused genealogy vault. It provides automation scripts to synchronize an Obsidian mirror, triage GitHub issues, and audit codebases against strict privacy and structural constraints. The system enforces data integrity and compliance by validating file structures, preventing the leakage of sensitive personal information, and ensuring adherence to a source-first methodology.
Features
New automation scripts and hardened validation for privacy, triage, and sharded trees
This release introduces several new scripts to support privacy, GitHub triage, and sharded family-tree vaults, while strengthening the existing repository validation. The new \scripts/github-triage\ script fetches open issues and PRs via the GitHub CLI, classifies them (e.g., privacy-risk, spam, usage-question), and writes local state for reporting without modifying GitHub. The \scripts/privacy-audit-repo\ script scans tracked text files and git history against a private denylist, producing a timestamped report that passes or fails based on findings. For large, sharded trees, \scripts/shard\_manifest.py\ parses a File/Region table in \Family\_Tree.md\ to map shards to regions, and \scripts/tree\_locator.py\ builds a name-to-shard locator with integrity checks. \scripts/sync-vault-mirror.sh\ keeps a read-only Obsidian vault mirror in sync with the repo’s methodology directories. \scripts/validate-genealogy-vault.rb\ validates the live vault structure, privacy constraints (no exact dates for living/unknown persons), and toolkit mirror contents. The existing \scripts/validate-repo\ script is updated to enforce UTF-8 encoding for locale-independent validation, require 13 numbered prompts, mandate matching review cards with specific headings, enforce a source-first beginner route by forbidding expansion-first patterns, require specific usability files and privacy-mode content, and block public leaks of private paths, vault names, and SSN patterns.
