What this system is
This system is a cross-platform Swift library that provides a SwiftUI component for scanning barcodes and QR codes. It enables applications to capture codes via live camera, manual tap, or image gallery, while returning detailed metadata such as code type and location. The library supports multiple Apple platforms, including iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.
Features
CodeScannerView now supports manual capture, gallery scanning, and detailed scan results
The CodeScannerView SwiftUI component has been expanded with new scanning modes, including a manual mode that requires the user to tap a capture button to scan a code, and a gallery mode that allows scanning codes from photos. The scan result now includes the detected code type, the image of the scanned code, and the corner coordinates of the code within the viewfinder. Additionally, the view supports pausing scanning, toggling the torch, and simulating scans in the iOS simulator for testing purposes.

Resolved (4)
- Dependency hygiene PARTLY measured — SwiftPM pinning read, dependency currency NOT established
- Documentation: no installation or build instructions (README.md)
- Documentation: no licence statement (README.md)
- Documentation: no usage examples (README.md)
New (1)
- Duplicate property names with different casing ('requires' vs 'require') likely serving the same intent. In Swift, properties are typically case-sensitive, but having two properties with such similar names suggests a copy-paste error or inconsistent naming convention for the same underlying configuration.

About this page
- The score is its most recent published measurement, taken on 1 October 2026 at a pinned commit. It is not a live figure and does not change until the project is measured again.
- Measured at commit 5a921d49b5535a819610f2e2a2dff3ddf8a1ea9c — the exact code this score is about.
- Scored under rubric-2026.09.18 — the same rubric and the same method as every other entry in this index.
